Snowy Day

Hello!

Well, we got the dreaded snow.  Yuck.  Which means working on the house hasn't been happening this week.  It is suppose to warm up this weekend and were suppose to drop off the door and window we ordered on Saturday..its gonna be pretty cool to see the door installed!

I thought Aidens school would be canceled but it was I-step so it wasn't (Aiden doesn't do I-step, but his school system is doing it right now)

He wanted to play in the snow so we shoveled the driveway.

Here is a quick video of Aiden in the snow.  Hes pretty much down to business and just wants to shovel snow and yells at me for not doing it LOL.  Gotta teach him young :)

A look into the house & Video Tour

Hello! I hope everyones weekend was great!

I just wanted to do a quick update, we went to the land again yesterday to see if any progress had been done and they weren't working so we were able to get into the house.

I have to tell you, this has been the most exciting stage so far.  Worried that something wasn't going to look right or be off or rooms to small.  It's hard to create a house plan and just go by model home measurements that you visited and wrote down dimensions saying, "Yes, this is a nice size for Aidens room", "Laundry room, etc.

I know some of these photos might look like random wood pieces to everyone else, but we can see the rooms....its pretty cool!

House Updates & Video for Grandma

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  I have lots to share!

We finally were able to get out on the land (its about an hour or so from our rental home) and we could see some progress, not much but some so we will take it.

The weather has been terrible for building, of course :)

Lots of snow and then rain so we still cant pour our basement flooring.  We just want this phase done so we can move onto framing!

But we do have our transformer box for electricity and they hooked up the temp electrical pole so we have a temp sump pump helping to keep our basement dry.

Made such a mess from the road to the place the box is, oh well grass can always grow back.

Some more plumbing work appears to be done and we now have blankets on the floor to help keep it warm and not freeze.

The other day Aiden and I went to my moms house to decorate sugar cookies and play with Carson so mom, Amanda, and I made 3 deco mesh wreaths for my front door for the new house.

I couldn't wait for next year so I went ahead and displayed the Valentines one on our door now

Love the way it turned out.

Mom and I also went to Home Goods to go back to get this sign...we couldn't find it at first so we sure they were gone (there were 2 colors) and we found it at the last min in the front of the register area.  Made for Aidens new bathroom I guess.

We of course picked up some other things for the new home, including a cool metal art piece for Aidens basketball room.  He loves it!

See how perfect this sign it with Aidens bathroom decor.

I didn't want to do something very juvenile, such as Monkeys, Angry Birds, etc because I want this to be something he can keep for a LONG time and still be used if we have another child and its a girl.

Did you know finding bath pieces like this is hard to find or cant find all the pieces?  Everything either looks too adult or fancy or they are a specific theme such as Paris, Metals, Etc.  So when I saw this polka dot look online I fell in love.

IT WAS ON CLEARANCE!  (I think Brent liked those words from my mouth when ordering)However, I had to order from 2 places to complete his set and still need to get a plain brown shower curtain and bath mat but I love it! So I am waiting on 1 more package to arrive.

We also went to the tile place (see last post to see why) and I just don't understand why they didn't send us there in the first place.  It was amazing!  They had samples after sample and Kathy was SO SO nice to work with.  She really understands how we want our master bath to look with all tile and glass shower with design and built ins and my corner jet tub with tile so I am SO happy she called us.

We even went ahead and asked her to use the title for the master bath floor so that we will not have to upgrade the flooring that was planned.  The powder and Aidens bath will still have Vinyl, but that will be easy to switch when we have extra $$ again.

Also others can skip this part but here is the video I promised my grandma to help with pinterest.  Aiden also makes an appearance at the end really fast.

Halloween Card and Video

Hello!

Hope your weekend was nice.  It was Brent and I's 5 year anniversary. We ended up staying home since Brents mom wasnt feeling well at all and we wanted her to feel better instead of watching Aiden...and getting him sick ;)

I have set aside some time each night to do something crafty for personal crafts....however, the first night was cleaning my scrapbook room but still..it felt nice!  Its all clean and I even created a LOOOONG video tutorial/show you how I made a card.

Seeing how its 20 min of me just rambling on and talking, you can tell I havent done a tutorial in a while and missed them obviously.

Here is the Halloween card I am creating for my cousin and Aiden and my nephew Carson.  Love this Northwood Stamp.

(I cannot take credit for the card layout/idea....recreated based on their card sample)

Love this card!  I used acetate to make the window...really look like a window!

And in case you have 20 min of your life you dont mind ever getting back (ha-ha)
Also..be sure to listen around the 13:15 min or so...Aiden has something adorable to say to me!  He melts my heart!

Aiden and candy

Hey Everyone,
I have been busy working on some more custom Etsy orders. I was asked to do gender neutral baby announcements and here is what I came up with. I was so happy when they loved them so much they ordered more than what they asked for so they would have some for future kids ;)
I did a version like this for Aidens baby announcements but used brown and blue.

I am hoping to get done with Christmas shopping here pretty soon. Christmas is in 50 some days...hard to believe. I really cannot believe its already November. Thats crazy! Where is time going?! I am proud to say that I am officially finished shopping for my sister, got started on my mom, and I know what I am getting Aiden. I am trying to slowly filter in gifts since Brent and I have really stepped up our saving habit for to hopefully be able to purchase some land here in the future!

Before I go I just wanted to share an adorable video of Aiden and getting some candy from his grandma. And NO he will not eat all of it ;) In fact she will more than likely get more than 1/2 of it back lol

Aiden-22 Months

Aiden-

Wow...you are now 22 months old. I swear I didn't believe anyone when they told me to cherish my time with you because it would go by so fast...its amazing on how right they were. I feel it more right now because I am starting to work on your SECOND birthday invitations..wow

I feel like I keep saying this but each month gets more fun with you. You are able to understand what I am saying and you can do more!

  • Still wearing size 4 diapers

  • We have introduced the potty to you

  • Still love your Backyardigans, but you really dont watch that much tv

  • Love playing with the toy story play set your grandma and grandpa B got for you

  • STILL love going outside...I swear you would sleep outside if you could

  • Says "No" and "Oh NO" all the time..the oh no part is the cutest thing, you say it like the WORST thing possible has happened.

  • We still read about a thousand books a day, you are even doing a summer program at a local bookstore!

  • Had your first expeierce with snap pops..and you love them! But you have to place them on the ground and then step on them versus throwing them.

  • Loved the fireworks and did not cry or get scared at all!

  • Not really taking yet, but you understand everything we say to you. Are you going to be stubborn like mommy and daddy?

  • Still wearing 24months/2T

  • You realized you love mac n cheese

We are so blessed to have you in our lives Aiden. I love you...

Love, Mommy

The place where I create....

Hello my readers!

I am just now getting around to posting for today/tonight. Aiden and I have been not feeling 100% today...we both slept in and of course that throws off your entire day.

Brent was sweet enough to bring home dinner for all of us..so no cooking tonight! ;)

I will make this short because Aiden still needs a bath and I have some emails I need to answer...but heres the video of my new updated scrapbook room.

Enjoy :)

Hey Everyone,
Can you believe its Thursday already??
I am so excited for this weekend. I am going to a scrapbooking day with about 25 scrapbooking friends LOL. It will be a BLAST and we rented out the confrence room at a local Holiday Inn for the WHOLE day!!! (Thanks Brent for watching Aiden by yourself pretty much all weekend so I can get out! LOL)
I need it..I am so far behind but believe it or not I will be working (well..we really just talk but I promise to get things done!) I will be working on Aidens 2nd bday party invites and treat bag toppers and even my Christmas cards...I know alot of you are thinking WOW..why so early?
Well...because last year I was making them up to like the week before Christmas because I didnt like my end design after all.....it was terrible! I was so unmotivated to finish them..not this year!
Here is the newest video I recorded. I will upload part 2 a little later (making the card below)
If you are a fan on my facebook fan page though you get to see the videos earlier than everyone else!!

Changes in room...

Hey Everyone!

Happy Friday.

I have been so busy working on a project and spending alot of time with Brent and Aiden that I have not had too much time to sit down and create scrapbook pages and/or cards.

We did get to go to Ikea on Monday and I picked up "hopefully" the last few items I need for my scrapbook room. I also hope we get to finish my room..I am so happy with it! I know I did a video not too long ago and believe it or not but it has gotten almost 2,000 views on it (HOW FUN IS THAT!) but I have changed it quite a bit and added some things and even got rid of some things.

So be looking for a new video if I can convince Brent to help me this weekend. Although his sisters are coming in from Chicago and we are going to see them on Saturday.

Here is the OLD video if you want to watch it again before I release the new one and can see all the changes LOL!!

A stands for Aiden

Hey Everyone,

I am not sure what it is lately but I have felt super crafty lately. When I saw this project on another blog..I knew it was something I wanted to do for Aidens room. Something that hopefully he wants until hes a little older.

Its a crayon letter shadow box...check it out! (I promise to have cards again soon! lol)

On her blog she printed on the computer a letter that was big enough. I just used my cricut and hit fit to page....love my expression! So you take the letter and trace it onto your scrap paper and your good one cut to fit the shadow box. I know it seems like double work but trust me..you will want to set them out before you glue them down. Also, sometimes little scratches of color get on the practice one...

Take some crayons..I did name brand crayons since you will see some of the label. For Aidens name at almost 7" lettering I used 1 complete box and probably 6 out of a 2nd one. The rest he can have to add to his collection.

You will then want to decide how you want them to look. I wanted to switch between ends on mine. Take a craft knife and just roll the blade on them..do not saw it will cause the crayons to chip and break.

Here they are on my practice one...on your good paper make sure you erase the trace lines BEFORE you glue them down...its impossible to erase the lines without ripping up the crayon.
I glued mine down with a hot glue gun...be careful its very hot and it melts the crayon a little if you are not careful.

I also used my cricut and cut his name out.

Hang it on the wall!!

Its so cute in his room....Brent was surprised I finished it as fast as I did.
Speaking of Aiden..here is an adorable video before we went to see the community fireworks show. His first time with snap pops.

See you tomorrow!!
