Exciting Times!

Hello!

This will be a quick update as the Bachelor is calling my name to watch before bed lol.

Brent said I needed to see the progress on the house so we drove to the land and to our surprise some of the crew was still working (at 5pm)  yay!  Of course it started raining minutes we left so they didn't stay much longer.

But look at the progress today!

This guy is standing in our basement stairs

This is so exciting!  They are hoping to have some walls up by the end of this week.  Praying the weather holds.  Of course just as everything was getting dry again its raining now of course.

So windy it knocked over the porta potty.  Not good news ;)

They also agreed to fix all the ruts they made when trying to drive across our lot and didn't make it. Of course this will be at the end.

It seems so real now!

Sunday News

Hello everyone!

I cannot believe it is Sunday already.  Weekends always seem to fly by......

Just wanted to do a quick update on the new house.  We went to the land on Saturday afternoon and look what was delivered........

Lumber!!

We didn't stay long at all.  It was SO cold out today!

They have back filled by the house so were now able to walk right up and look down into basement.

We are so excited to see some framing.  So of course Monday is calling for rain all day.  Also if you could say a quick little prayer that all our supplies will be okay on the land since we haven't had the best of luck with people staying off our land (i.e burning our shed down and stealing lawn mower shell)

Thanks for reading :)

New House Update & Sky Zone

Hello!

So sorry its been awhile since my last update.  We have been pretty much standstill on the home due to rain and snow and cold temps.  But we are so happy that the basement floor has been poured!  We also drove by on Monday and we noticed they had prepped our garage floor to be poured as well!

So exciting!  So the next part is the back filling and then start the framing.  Framing is the part I am excited for!

The photos aren't much (you cant really see much) since they floor is covered by black blankets to protect it.

You can see a peek of the flooring here

Looks like a mess doesn't it

One thing we are not happy with is the choice they made to not use the temp driveway and instead try to cut across our 5 acres and got stuck.

Deep ruts

This use to be TONS of rocks...not so much anymore

Earlier that day Aiden was invited to his first ever "friend" birthday party.  A new boy in his class named Max.  It was held at a Skyzone, which is an indoor trampoline park.  He had so much fun.  I even got to meet Georgia and Rachel he talks soooo much about haha.

It was so cute to see him around his friends and have so much fun.

He immediately feel asleep in the car on the way to the land and got to miss the HUGE mud mess, darn LOL.

Check back soon for more updates!!

House Updates & Video for Grandma

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  I have lots to share!

We finally were able to get out on the land (its about an hour or so from our rental home) and we could see some progress, not much but some so we will take it.

The weather has been terrible for building, of course :)

Lots of snow and then rain so we still cant pour our basement flooring.  We just want this phase done so we can move onto framing!

But we do have our transformer box for electricity and they hooked up the temp electrical pole so we have a temp sump pump helping to keep our basement dry.

Made such a mess from the road to the place the box is, oh well grass can always grow back.

Some more plumbing work appears to be done and we now have blankets on the floor to help keep it warm and not freeze.

The other day Aiden and I went to my moms house to decorate sugar cookies and play with Carson so mom, Amanda, and I made 3 deco mesh wreaths for my front door for the new house.

I couldn't wait for next year so I went ahead and displayed the Valentines one on our door now

Love the way it turned out.

Mom and I also went to Home Goods to go back to get this sign...we couldn't find it at first so we sure they were gone (there were 2 colors) and we found it at the last min in the front of the register area.  Made for Aidens new bathroom I guess.

We of course picked up some other things for the new home, including a cool metal art piece for Aidens basketball room.  He loves it!

See how perfect this sign it with Aidens bathroom decor.

I didn't want to do something very juvenile, such as Monkeys, Angry Birds, etc because I want this to be something he can keep for a LONG time and still be used if we have another child and its a girl.

Did you know finding bath pieces like this is hard to find or cant find all the pieces?  Everything either looks too adult or fancy or they are a specific theme such as Paris, Metals, Etc.  So when I saw this polka dot look online I fell in love.

IT WAS ON CLEARANCE!  (I think Brent liked those words from my mouth when ordering)However, I had to order from 2 places to complete his set and still need to get a plain brown shower curtain and bath mat but I love it! So I am waiting on 1 more package to arrive.

We also went to the tile place (see last post to see why) and I just don't understand why they didn't send us there in the first place.  It was amazing!  They had samples after sample and Kathy was SO SO nice to work with.  She really understands how we want our master bath to look with all tile and glass shower with design and built ins and my corner jet tub with tile so I am SO happy she called us.

We even went ahead and asked her to use the title for the master bath floor so that we will not have to upgrade the flooring that was planned.  The powder and Aidens bath will still have Vinyl, but that will be easy to switch when we have extra $$ again.

Also others can skip this part but here is the video I promised my grandma to help with pinterest.  Aiden also makes an appearance at the end really fast.

Favorite Photo

Happy Friday!

I really don't have any photos to share of the house so I wanted to share the cutest photo of Aiden taken during our boat ride with Brents family.

Goodness, I could stare into those baby blues for hours.......

Such a cutie pie

Monday I hope to have news and photos.  Aiden probably wont be going to school...we have alot to do on Monday.  We get to meet the health department out on our land and they will let us know if we can have a regular septic versus the mound.  Its a long shot, but it could potentially save about
$15-18,000.  And...thats ALOT of money we need to come up with on top of the added winter costs we had to write a check for (yuck)

:(

So please keep praying and fingers crossed it works.  Chances are it wont and it is what is is.  We need a septic....

Also on Monday, they hope to pour the basement flooring!  And we need to visit the flooring company..I guess a color choice was messed up and you know its bad when they call and question a choice LOL....thank goodness.  The border someone how got wrote down wrong and I guess looks like a mess with our full tile shower.

Have a great weekend!

House Building-Waterproofing Basement

Hey Everyone!

Weekends sure do seem to fly by don't they?!

I am finally starting to feel almost normal again and Aiden isn't really coughing anymore so we decided to check out the house today.

They had waterproofed the basement sometime between the last time we visited.  We were also so happy there was NO water in the basement...yet.  Of course its suppose to rain for the next few days.  But I am so happy there isn't a ton of water in it already from snow melting!

Here are some photos of the waterproofing stage
(not very exciting, but very important)
:)

I was excited to see tubes and plumbing coming out of out sump pump (we have 2 for our basement)

Mr. Aiden himself...hes so excited about this whole process and he LOVES the huge dirt piles we have still for digging.

After we visited the house we went and ordered our front entry door.  We were able to get the statement glass door I fell in love with (it has these little jewels and everything...lol...hence why its called statement glass)

We also ordered our decorative glass window for our master bath.  It is 48"x48" and I am so excited to have this in our home! We were going to go with the typical glass blocks, but the caulking was white and we paid to upgrade all our windows and trims to a sandstone color, and we knew that would bug us, so it all worked out!

We still need to think about appliances and our wrought iron design we want for our basement stairs since its open at the top.

So excited!  Look for more updates soon!

House Update-Stone Color

Hello!

Sadly I don't have any updated photos of the basement/house.

Aiden and I have been sick.  Fortunately, I got it worse and have an upper respiratory infection that I'm trying to get rid of.  I even lost my voice and its still gone...not fun! LOL

So we haven't been out there due to us being sick and it's been really cold here and were pretty much at a standstill till  we get temp electricity out to our property, which is scheduled for NEXT Friday.

I swear there is never a sense of urgency in home building it appears.

Basically, there is water in the basement and they need to pump it out to pour the flooring.  Also it snowed again today and is suppose to rain next week so no progress.

Anyways, I just wanted to post a photo of our stone selection we chose for our main arch for the entry of the home.

We went with this color:

But we want it in the cut cobblestone look, which looks like this

Confused yet? LOL  Try looking at 1,000 stone selections and types of stones (how they are cut).

We wanted the stone to not be "perfect" and have clean cut corners so we choose cobblestone.

I am so excited we were able to add stone to our home, Brent and I  have always loved the houses that had Stone and brick today.

It seems so surreal that THIS year we will be in our new home (well....hopefully, if it quits snowing and raining LOL)

Have a great weekend!

House Building-Basement Walls

Hello!

Here is the newest update on our home building adventure.  We went last week to check on the progress but always went when it was too late.

So yesterday when we met Brents parents out at the land yesterday to show them the progress and they wanted to see Aiden I got to take some photos in the light :)

Basement walls have been poured!

3 car garage area.

You can see the cutout part where our escape window well and ladder will be

This photo shows the brick ledege (where the bricks will go at)

Today they are suppose to be waterproofing and installing installation on the basement.

Also, if you could say a quick prayer.  We are testing ONE more area for a ground septic (not the mound we have going in now).  The cost of this is so high and such a burden on us right now.

We are so excited!  Cant wait to see the basement floor poured, but this week its SO cold so they dont know if we can yet.

Thanks for looking!
