4th of July..

Hey Everyone,

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We had alot of fun here..especially since Aiden loves fireworks and IS NOT scared of them!! YAY.

We have alot to do today so I just wanted to post a project that I create for the craft show and have been a big hit since......gift card/money/check holder!!

Using the Stampin Up Top Note die!

Directions are really simple:
Just cut 3 top notes out of the same cardstock (unless you want a different colored pocket, then choose that cardstock color to cut top note). Cut one of the diecuts in half...this will create the pocket.
Using a stamp or anything else you can decoriate the pocket (I used Veramark for a watermark look) and then use red sticky tape and put around 3 sides..leaving top unadhesived. Glue in place
I wanted there to be some decorative paper on the front so I ran the pattern paper through the die cut machine as well and cut in half. Decorate front and punch a hole at the top and secure with brad so you can swing it open closed!
They are pretty easy to make and you can make alot of them in a short time!
Well sorry this is short but we have so much planned today so I better get off here and get ready! Check back tomorrow!

Yo Yo Crazy

One of the things I have made for myself that always gets so many compliments is my handmade yo yo necklaces. It was time for some new colors....and for some to be made for my upcoming craft show (in October!) However, I made these for myself ;)

Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with anything black and pink. (Have you seen my scrap room?!)

I also wanted something to wear with my purple tee.

They are so much fun to make!!

I think today Aiden and I are just going to hang out at home. Yesterday we went to my grandmas and my mom came down as well. We got our new SU cattys.......I HAVENT EVEN HAD TIME TO LOOK AT IT YET!!

The sewing machine I am using got fixed (thanks grandma!), so now I am ready to use it again. We also went to a scrapbooking shop and I got some cute papers. Aiden then got to see his other grandma and we searched for a check that a radio station hide. No luck :(

Then Brents parents took us out to Zawanzigs..which is a fantastic pizza place!! So we were quite busy! See you tomorrow as I have the card I made for the sketch challenge going on at Blackleaf.

Craft Show recap

Happy Monday everyone!

I just wanted to do a quick post about the craft show that I did on Saturday (the 12th). I have been working my tail off trying to get things ready for my first ever craft show! In the back of my mind when I would create things I would have to ask...is this really cute?! LOL

Anyways...it was a rough week. I felt like I didn't have enough time and I was really stressed..poor Brent :(

Nancy did watch Aiden for me on Tuesday which I was SO SO SO thankful for and I really needed it! However, Brent and I were still up to at least 4am on Friday night/Saturday morning. We had to wake up at 7 to get ready and head to the store. The entire morning..it is POURING while we were trying to unload the car. This is a PAPERcrafters worst nightmare lol.

I am so thankful for my mom who agreed to sit with me and help me with the booth. I loved talking to her and being with her without Carson or Aiden around..just us :)

I also love Brent and that he watched both boys for us and the house was still in one piece ;)

Also, it was so nice to see my grandma, Aunt Dana, and Kathy show up early. By this time I wasn't really stressed anymore. You see...I did this craft show not really expecting to make money..I wanted it for the experience. I plan on doing several larger ones in October and November and I even need pictures to send my application in for those!

It was kinda slow off an on all day but it rained all morning, it was so hot outside (humidity) and there was terrible construction outside. I also think that because it was in June and not around Christmas. But I do not regret doing this at all......I am now ready to do more!!! I even told Brent today.."I wish it was 2 day..I liked doing it!"

People appeared to like all my items...got so many compliments (from other vendors AND customers) and passed out a TON of business cards. Some people have already contacted me! I did sell some things..in fact I think I was one of the only pure handmade vendors that really did (how sad!)

Here are some pictures. Please note this was before any customers..so I did fill the tables out better right before the show started.

I wish I had more room! My top hits were chipboard albums that said Dad and gift card holders!
I cannot wait to do more craft shows!!
I did in fact start packing up at 4 (craft show ended at 5)..it was so humid out and it was pretty much dead after lunch time/afternoon. My mom and I packed and went home at the right time because when we were driving back to my house...it rained...and it rained HARD. So much you couldn't see on the interstate and we dropped our speed down to around 35 (people usually go at least 70 if not 75). Crazy!!

Jumbo Paper Clips

Have you seen those BIG paper clips at Staples and office max??? I think they are called Super Jumbo clips....but I KNEW I wanted to create something with them for my craft show tomorrow.

I decorated them and decided to shoot a video on it as well ;)

Of course..my voice sounds echo'y (how do you spell that word..is it a word?LOL) because I am downstairs in my kitchen area since Aiden was taking a nap and I had some things I needed to get done without the risk of waking him up.

To be honest...I am almost going to be relieved when this craft show is over and the next one isnt till November. This has been a stressful thing. It could be a bust..I could be the only handmade booth there or not sell anything or the other way around...run out of stuff. It will be nice to actually have some time again to do things and see Brent and Aiden lol

Here is the video...I hope everyone has a great Friday!!

Busy Busy Busy

Wow..this weekend has gone by FAST!!! I feel like we have been super lazy though..but were entitled to some of those once in awhile ;)
But on the other hand..I feel like I dont have time to stop and breathe. The house looks like a tornado has hit (by the name of Mr. Aiden) and I have been so busy doing craft show items.
Sorry if I havent been around as much but the craft show is on Saturday and I have so much to do!!! BUT once thats over I am redoing my scrapbook room...AGAIN. Yes I said again...I know I just did it but Ive added a few extra special things that I cannot wait to show everyone!
The card above is one that my mom and I came up with for a family friends sons 4th bday. The robot is a shaker..so the metal beads shake and move..its adorable!
I am off to try to finish up some sewing projects I am doing for the show and then taking Aiden outside..we got him the cutest water/sand table. But were doing water in all of it for right now.

Stampin on Candles

Happy Thursday Everyone,

We had some major storms go through our area late night/morning and of course..Aiden woke up. Not fun at all because he gets mega grumpy (I think I do too LOL)

Hopefully its an early nap today..he needs his sleep.

I created a new video for another craft show project...stampin on candles

I know this was VERY popular a few years ago..and I cant believe I never made a video on them..so here it is..

(I think its time for a new embossing gun..on my last candle (around 1am) the smoke detector goes off..) It wasnt good and did you know that Brent didnt rush in to rescue me from the HUGE fire there could have been. He just yelled through the door minutes later..u ok? Haha..guess he knows me by now. I have a history with fire and burning things...

The finished candles have ribbon and various brads in them

Enjoy the video and come back soon for a card!

New Video!

Hey Everyone!!

I hope your weekend went well and Monday flew by. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE our Mondays here in our family (Hubby is off!)

I really do not have much time to post tonight..I have tons to do before Aiden goes to bed. We are completely bottle free (have been for about 4 days now!!)

Aiden was only taking a bottle at night and not even a full 8oz most nights...it was a comfort thing..to help him fall asleep and we decided that we wanted it gone before his 2nd birthday. *Knock on wood* but it hasnt been too bad...just a few tears at night but Aiden threw them all away (which we recused and put away for next baby) so they could go to a little baby who needed them.

Here is another video of a dry erase tile memo board I have created for the upcoming craft fair! Enjoy!

Metal Mania

Wednesday was also a new challenge over at Blackleaf as well! It's fun..you need to use blackleaf images and metal of some sort!

The DT got to use the new stamps (which I am so excited to use again!)

And here is my card I created-I ran alumin foil through my cuttlebug. Since its so fragile I always attatch cardstock behind the foil first...so that when you run it through it doesnt tear the delicate foil. At the bottom of the card I wanted the foil to look "rough" so I punched holes in it and kinda tore the top and bent it.

I have used this technique before on cards for my dad since he loves Harley Davidson and Chrome.
I am so happy its Friday!!! I hope to have some time to work on some craft show items...I am starting to stress a little LOL..even though Brent made me promise not to get stressed. I also have found a BIG show nearby that is having one in November..I really want to sign up for that one as well.
Will it rain AGAIN..for the 5th weekend in a row?! We shall see lol...Check back later because I have some exciting news, new items to show, and a new video of my latest craft show item!!

Over 200 Balloons?!

Yes..you read that right..OVER 200 balloons and a special helper and I now have a fun wreath.

I am watching my nephew Carson for two days and I had to pick him up pretty early so my sister could get to work on time. Aiden was super cranky by noon from being up all night..again..so he took a nap and Carson and I had craft time.

I was reading on a crafty blog where they made a wreath like this. I plan on putting it out in March (My bday), July (Brents), and September (for Aidens). I am all about creating traditions for Aiden to remember his childhood by (especially at Christmas!). This was super fun, pretty fast (we were done by 2 and I had a 3 year old helper)

Supplies Needed:
-Straw Wreath (keep the plastic on)
-Greening Pins (found in floral area of craft store)
-Tons of balloons-standard size (this is the most expensive part. I used 8 bags of 25 but could easily put more one!)
Before-
I used an 18" wreath

Here are my supplies (I found a case of greening pins for only 13.00) Couldn't resist..I plan on making some of these for my craft show anyways.

Just start putting the balloons on around the wreath. To help keep balloon cost down..designate an area that is the top..that way you can hold it up and see how that side will hang on your door.

Hold pin and slide balloon in between half way

just stick it in wreath till the ends are flush and into the wreath

This was so fun to do with Carson..if he can do it..anyone can! He really did help me with the whole thing and I only had to take out a few. ;)

Except I am the aunt that wants him to continue learning..so each time I asked him what color the balloon was lol

The After-

Here is a close up..to hang it outside just use a door wreath holder OR I already have a nail in my door so I just used the greening pin..stuck it all the way in and the nail catches the top of it and it hangs!!

Its so bright and pretty!! Well I need to get off here and get lunch ready for the boys!

Scented Lemonade Holder

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend..they always go too fast dont they. If you read my last post then you know I was excited to have a weekend free of rain.......ITS RAINING. This is 4 weekends in a row where it is rainy/gloomy weather.

Yesterday we slept in and then I went to some community garage sales with Brent and Aiden. We found SO MANY GOOD DEAL!!
  1. Aiden gets alot of stuff (of course!!) I really don't buy clothes or stuffed animals for him but toys that can be washed and cleaned than I am interested. We found him a huge Fishers Price firetruck for $1.00, 5 hot wheels cards for 50 CENTS! and 5 Thomas the Train wooden engines for only a dollar.
  2. I found 4 SU wooden sets (some weren't even mounted) and a CTMH stamp set (also never used)...I also found several items to alter for my craft show coming up and several displays for the table.
  3. Brent also found several sports memorabilia for his collection.

Anyways..so we had a great time then it started raining..of course

As promised here is a video I created for one of the things I am making for the craft show in June..scented lemonade holder..check it out!

Blessed-Mother's Day 2010

I had such a lovely Mother's Day (okay..actually all weekend I was treated extra nice lol)

On Saturday we went out to eat with Brents parents and we gave his mom his gifts. I made a handmade crazy quilt table runner for her adorned with beads and charm...and Aidens little handprint!! We also gave her a garden decor item.

I was showered with gifts that night...Aiden has SUCH GOOD taste LOL....new Coach wallet and a separeate coin purse. I also got one of those birthstone babies!! I love it! And I love my boys

I had given my mom her gifts earlier in the week so I didnt get to see her on actual Mother's Day this year.

I am so lucky that this adorable, full of energy, spiky haired little boy made me a mom.
I seriously do not know what I would do without him in my life..in fact its hard to remember what I did with my time and energy.

I was also given some time in my craft room where I have been working on items for the craft show I have coming up. If you are in the Indianapolis area on June 12th....you should come!!

I also had some time to make a wedding card for a cousin of mine who is getting married next weekend. Although this card is NOT the one I made for her...her colors are different.

Okay well I am off to go and create more for the craft show....so many little adorable projects to do!!

Hump Day Inspiration 10 Card

Wednesday again..already?! That means it is time for Inktegrity's Hump Day Inspiration time (to win some free digi's!!)
Here is the sketch for this week....simple and easy to work with for people who do not have alot of time!! I love it

And here is my card for the sketch.

I did some designs on the balloons with my Copic colorless blender pen and put glossy accents on top of it. The blue trim is a NEW Ek success border/edger punch I got from JoAnn's the other night. I love it and it is alot easier to line up than it looks!

I also have some exciting news if you are local to me..I will be participating in a craft show in June. I will have more details soon..and its free to park and free to get in!! I only have a month to work on some more goodies for the show though!!!
